MAP & Discount Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Thermisight Dynamics LLC — which owns and operates thermisightdynamics.com, thermisighthunters.com, thermisightindustrial.com, and thermisightdrone.com — is an authorized dealer for every brand we carry. Each manufacturer sets a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) — the lowest price a dealer may publicly advertise for a product. This page explains exactly how we run promotions, sales, and verified-buyer discounts while staying strictly within those MAP rules.

Rule 1 — We never advertise below MAP

Every product in our catalog carries a stored MAP floor. The list price and any advertised sale price shown on the site are always at or above that floor. Our pricing engine blocks — automatically — any change that would display a protected optic below its manufacturer MAP, whether the change comes from an admin sale, a manufacturer-portal discount, or a cart code. There is no manual override for public prices.

Rule 2 — Public sales stop at MAP

Sitewide and seasonal promotions set a product's advertised sale price to exactly MAP — never below it. When a public discount code is applied in the cart, our server recomputes the discount line-by-line and clamps each protected item so its advertised price cannot fall under MAP. If a code would breach MAP, the discount is reduced to the compliant maximum and the cart shows a notice explaining the adjustment.

Rule 3 — Verified LE / MIL / first-responder pricing

Military, law-enforcement, and first-responder pricing is gated behind identity verification. These prices are never publicly advertised — they appear only after a buyer's eligible status is approved. Because gated, authenticated pricing is not public advertising, manufacturers generally authorize it below MAP, and each verified-program code carries a recorded authorization reference. Verified discounts therefore settle the final transaction below MAP without ever appearing as an advertised catalog price.

Rule 4 — Manufacturer-authorized exceptions

Occasionally a manufacturer grants written approval for a specific below-MAP promotion. We record that approval (reference, date, and terms) on the discount code and flag it as MAP-exempt. Only authorization-backed codes can bypass the MAP clamp; the authorization reference is retained for audit. No below-MAP price is ever advertised publicly without such documented approval.

Rule 5 — Bundles and demo units

Bundles are sold as their own product at their own price, not as a discount on individual MAP-protected items — so bundle savings do not alter any optic's advertised price. Demo and open-box units are clearly labeled and, as non-new stock, are exempt from new-product MAP.

Rule 6 — Value, not price cuts

Where a manufacturer enforces a strict MAP with little or no discount headroom, we add value instead of cutting price: free U.S. shipping, financing, warranty support, and expert consultation. These never touch the advertised price and so never conflict with MAP.

Rule 7 — Price Match Guarantee

We offer a price match guarantee for buyers who find a lower price from an authorized dealer. Price match requests are submitted through a public form at /price-match and reviewed by our team within 1 business day. Matches apply to authorized dealers only — not marketplace sellers (eBay, Amazon third-party) or clearance/closeout pricing — and are subject to MAP policy. When a price match is approved, the buyer receives a discount code that brings the checkout price to the matched price. This ensures we remain competitive for comparison shoppers while never advertising a price below MAP.

What you'll see

  • Catalog and product pages always show prices at or above MAP.
  • A public discount code is honored up to the MAP floor; the cart shows the compliant total and notes any adjustment.
  • Verified buyers see their authorized pricing applied at checkout, not advertised on the public page.

FTC truth-in-advertising compliance

Our advertising and pricing practices follow the Federal Trade Commission's truth-in-advertising standards: claims are truthful and not misleading, material connections are disclosed, and any advertised price reflects a bona fide offer.

  • Bona fide sale prices. A "sale" or "was/now" reference price reflects a genuine, recently offered price at which the product was actually sold for a reasonable period. We do not inflate reference prices to create a false impression of savings, and clearance or limited-quantity offers are clearly labeled.
  • Honest endorsements & reviews. Customer reviews reflect the genuine opinions of the named author. We never pay for, incentive, or fabricate reviews, and we disclose any material connection (for example, a free unit provided in exchange for an honest review). Verified-purchase badges are shown only for reviews tied to a completed order.
  • No deceptive comparisons. "Lowest price" or price-match claims, where shown, are based on current, verifiable competitor data; we do not advertise comparisons we cannot substantiate.
  • Clear financing & shipping terms. Any advertised financing, free-shipping, or warranty offer states the qualifying conditions and limitations plainly, with no hidden thresholds.
